Artificial Intelligence has emerged as a life savior for many. Voice recognition is one of such intelligence making it easier to control your smart home using products like the Amazon Echo, Google Home Speaker etc. With this new Zelda hack, you can easily control your automated home without speaking.
YouTube tinkerer Allen Pan customized his home automation system to respond to melodies from the N64 classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Each command is performed on an ocarina and fits thematically with the item it controls like Play Bolero of Fire melody, for example, and the heating comes on; play Epona’s Song, and it unlocks the car.
This does sound good and feel good but isn't secure enough. We have already seen how the lack of verification with voice-controlled systems can lead to trouble. One can easily control your home from outside by playing such tunes. A lot more easy way to step into the house in owner absence.
So if you’re thinking of switching from Alexa to Zelda to control your smart home, maybe think again. Or, come up with some fiendishly complicated melodies to use instead.
Its up to you what you want but well not recommend this for sure. Do comment below and let us know your views regarding this hack.
